Robert “Bob” Howard Lichenstein, 78, passed away on July 15, 2018 at 11:20AM. He was a native of Houston, TX and resident of Bourg, LA
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation beginning Friday, July 20, 2018 at Chauvin Funeral Home from 6:00PM until 9:00PM and resume Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Chauvin Funeral Home from 9:00AM until service time. Funeral Services will begin following visitation on Saturday starting at 11:00AM. Burial will take place following services in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2.
Bob is survived by his loving and caring wife; Suzie Lichenstein whom he knew as his baby; and his many caring family, friends, and co-workers at Houma Bearing Service Inc; whom he considered as extended family.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Ida Cartwright “Dot” Lichenstein.
Bob was a very successful business owner and operator of Houma Bearing Service Inc. He serviced the local community and abroad for more than a total of fifty years. Bob served the Terrebonne Parish community with distinguished honor. He had many talents and served the parish as Deputy Sheriff, member of the Houma Lions Club, Driftwood Country Band, Council on Aging as a volunteer, Unity Masonic Lodge #267, a Member of Houma Shrine Club and Houma Dune Patrol which he served as a past Captain, and member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Scottish Rites, York Rites Templer, both of New Orleans, LA and BPOE Elk Lodge #1199 and member of the Terrebonne Chamber of Commerce and the “Get Out the Vote” Campaign and also served as Deputy City Marshall. He assisted the many local schools, churches and the needy of the parish. Bob was honored for his work with the Terrebonne Parish Community in December of 20 bhyu7603 with the Keys to Houma-Terrebonne.
He will always be much loved by his family and friends. His legacy and service to the community to which he loved will never be forgotten.
Robert had a devotion to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and the family request donations to be made in his honor; Shriners Hospital in Shreveport, LA, and Louis Infant Center or the McDonald House.
