Irvin Robert “Bobby” Boudreaux, 86, passed away surrounded by his loving family at 11:48AM on Monday, February 19, 2018. He was a native and resident of Houma, LA.
Family and friends are invited to visitation Thursday, February 22, 2018 at St. Gregory Catholic Church from 10:00AM until service time. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin after visitation at St. Greggory Catholic Church beginning at 1:00PM. Burial will follow services at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2.
Bobby is survived by his loving wife Rosadell “Rose” Percle Boudreaux; Children, Kathy Boudreaux; Suzanne Gautier and husband Jack, Barry Boudreaux and wife Kathy, Kenny Boudreaux and wife Lydia; Grandchildren, Chad Michael Parr and wife Nicole, Ross Boudreaux and wife Debbie, Blake Boudreaux; Great-Grandchildren, Austin and Kate Parr, Jack Boudreaux and Mary Boudreaux.
Bobby is preceded in death by his Parents, Irvin Simon Boudreaux and Bessie Trosclair Boudreaux; Grandson, Ryan Parr; Brother, Donald Boudreaux; and Sister, Dian-Phyliss Boudreaux.
Bobby enjoyed fishing, gardening, working in his yard, and playing cards with family and friends. Bobby had a well-developed sense of humor. He always had a joke, riddle, and funny word to give. He had a love for working and serving the public. His love of service was only eclipsed by his love for his family Bobby served as The Clerk of Court of Terrebonne Parish for fifty years and served in the Clerk’s Office from 1950 until he was elected Clerk of Court in 1963. He was the second longest-serving Clerk of Court in Louisiana history; retiring from public service in 2012.
Bobby received many community service awards and commendations; including commendations from the Parish President, State Legislature, the Governor’s Office, State Supreme Court, and even received an honorary badge from the Terrebonne Parish Sheriffs Office upon his retirement. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club and twice the Kiwanian of the Year. He also was a member of the American Legion, and Knights of Columbus. Bobby was a recipient of the Elton Darsey Lifetime Achievement Award, selected by the Terrebonne Parish Bar Association.
The memory of his smile, his laugh, and his spirit will always be in our hearts to brighten our days.
