Wilma Picou

Wilma LeBlanc Picou, 95, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, October 1, 2017. She was a native and resident of Chauvin, Louisiana. Visitation will be Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until service time at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 noon with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Chauvin. Wilma is survived by her daughter, Judy P. Bourg Breaux and husband Daniel, son, Gerald P. Picou and wife Arlene, and daughter Lisa P. Rogers and husband John; grandchildren, Tammy Bourg, Keith Bourg and wife Vickie, Jason Bourg and wife Rachelle “Renne”, Corey Bourg, Michelle Lapeyrouse and husband Deacon Gary, Angie Britt, Clint Rogers and wife Amanda, Brittany Bourque and husband John; ten great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Joseph Picou, parents, Elphege and Louise Henry LeBlanc, sister, Thelma LeBlanc LeBoeuf, brother, Leroy LeBlanc, great grandson Zachary Bourg. Wilma was a devout Catholic who faithfully attended mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin and was a member of the Catholic Daughters, Ladies Altar Society, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed visiting with and cooking for her family, going to seafood boils and parades, shopping and going on casino trips. She also enjoyed “rodaying” around town with family and friends. She loved spending time with friends at the Chauvin Council on Aging. The family would like to thank the Chauvin Council on Aging for the love, care, and fun times she shared with them. They would also like to thank Haydel Memorial Hospice for their compassionate care. Chauvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the Picou family.
