William Ryle Darnell, age 84, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 9:14 pm. He was a native of Center, TX and a resident of Saint Martinville, LA.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday, February 22, beginning at 9:00 am until 1:00 p.m. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church. Burial will be held in St. Ann Catholic Cemetery.
William is survived by his wife of 59 years, Libby Theresa Boquet Darnell; sons, William John Darnell and wife, Jill of Cypress, TX, and James Michael Darnell of Broussard; daughter, Patricia Louise Darnell; stepbrother, James "Jim" Baird, Jr; grandchildren, Lindsey Darnell, Jennifer Darnell, Danielle Rudesill, Kaitlyn Rudesill, Michelle Stricklen, Erin Darnell, Theresa Rudesill and James “Ryle” Darnell; great-grandchildren, Riley and Landon Darnell, and Adalie Boudreau.
William is preceded in death by his father, Travis William Darnell; mother, Jimmie Louise Colley Baird; stepfather, James Baird, Sr.
William was retired from Dowell and B.J. Services. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, outdoors, and traveling.
