William Daniel Underwood

William “Bill” Daniel Underwood Sr., 77, passed away peacefully Friday, March 29, 2019 at 2:00PM. He was a native of Griffithville, AR and resident of Houma, LA.

Bill is survived by his Mother, Agnes Williams Austin; children, William Underwood Jr. and wife Melissa Bourg Underwood, Dawn Underwood Moore and husband Bill Moore Sr., Rebecca Underwood Sanner and husband Brad Sanner; brother, James Underwood and wife Gracie; sisters, Karen Underwood Mills and husband Ray Mills, Brenda Underwood Wood and late husband Joe Wood, Tderesa Underwood Alman and husband Jim Alman, Jan Underwood Landrum and husband George Landrum, and Sheila Underwood Fain and husband Lamar Fain; grandchildren, Beejay Underwood III and wife Ashley Underwood, Heather Alleman and husband Jared Alleman, Meghan Callegan and husband Trey Callegan, Kati Fleck and husband Andy Fleck, Billy Moore Jr., Kobe Underwood, Wyatt Underwood, Lexi Hutchinson, Kami Hutchinson, J.J. Hutchinson, Ethan Sanner, and Eli Sanner;  and twelve great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his beloved pet companion, Maggie Mae.

He is preceded in death by his wife of fifty-seven years, Dorothy Chauvin Underwood; infant son, Jeffrey Underwood; father, Jeffrey Underwood; brother, Roger Underwood, sister-in-law, Wanda Sue Underwood. 

Bill worked and dedicated much of his life to Halliburton. He retired after over thirty years of dedicated employment. Bill also served his country as a Veteran of the United States Airforce serving during the Vietnam era. Bill enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed spending time fishing, hunting, and going to the casino with those he loved.

The family would like to thank Haydel Memorial Hospice for their love and care given to Bill and our family in our time of need.

A Memorial Service will be held privately at a later date.
