W.A. Lodrigue, age 89, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, November 11, 2020. W.A. was a longtime resident of Dulac.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home in the Magnolia Chapel on Monday, November 16, 2020 beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Tuesday beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the Liturgy of the Word at 11:00 a.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.
W.A. is survived by his sons, Jimmy Lodrigue and wife Mona, Adam Lodrigue and wife Angela, Duane Lodrigue and wife Becky, and Kerry Lodrigue and wife Dodie; daughters, Beverly Guidry, Debbie Verdin and husband Ernest, and Judith Dion and husband Mathil; W.A. is also survived by many numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; brother, Morris Lodrigue; sisters, Mae Guidry, Jeanette Verdin, Helen Foret; daughter-in-law, Lydia Lodrigue.
W.A. is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Melvina Verdin Lodrigue; parents, Wilsey and Helena Foret Lodrigue; sons, Wilsey Lodrigue Jr., and Eugene Lodrigue; daughter, Julie Lodrigue; son-in-law, Clarence Guidry.
W.A. was a great-man, provider, commercial fisherman, and welder. W.A. enjoyed the South Louisiana culture and all things that God provided. He was a loving father to his family and enjoyed spending time with them especially family gatherings and holidays. He worked for the sheriff’s department for many years when Carlton Rozands was sheriff. W.A. has now been reunited with his lovely wife in heaven, they shall dance until there hearts are content. May he rest in the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
