Wallace Andrew LaFont, Sr.

Wallace Andrew LaFont, Sr., age 63, passed away Friday October 11, 2024. He was a native of Chauvin and resident of Montegut. 

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the memorial service Friday, October 18th, 2024 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Bourg from 1:00 PM until service time at 3:00 PM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Andy is survived by his loving wife, Suzette White LaFont; sons, Wallace LaFont, Jr. (Eva), Michael LaFont; grandchildren, Vincent LaFont, Max LaFont, Ariana LaFont; mother, Laura Rhodes LaFont; brother, Roland LaFont, Jr. (Penny); sisters, Rhonda LaFont Dupre (Russell), Dawn LaFont Sevin (Nac); nieces, Lauren Dupre Folse, Hannah Luke, Anna Breaux; nephew, Scott Sevin, Joshua Dupre; great-nephew, Bowen Hotard.

Andy is preceded in death by his father, Roland LaFont, Sr., nephew, Roland LaFont III; maternal grandparents, Myrtile and Stella Rhodes; paternal grandparents, Wallace and Thelma LaFont. 

Wallace LaFont, Sr., an expert machinist and welder, worked most of his professional life at Weatherford Gemeco. In 1979, he met the love of his life Suzette LaFont, a school teacher and community volunteer. He dedicated his life to Suzette and raising his two sons and three grandchildren. Wallace LaFont, Sr. enjoyed taking rides on his motorcycle with his wife, spending time with his family, and sharing his love for others through the family tradition of food.
