Waldene "Dee" Chiasson

Waldene “Deanie” “Dee” Chiasson, age 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family and friends on Sunday, March 5, 2023. She was a native of Weeks Island and longtime resident of Houma and known by many as Ma Dee.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Annunziata Catholic Church on Saturday, March 18, 2023, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m., a rosary will be recited at 10:30. Burial will follow in Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery.

Dee is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Chiasson Savoie, and husband Louis; son, Earl Chiasson, Jr.; grandchildren, Tim Savoie, and wife Amanda; Amy Adele Savoie; great grandchildren, Mackenzie and Madison Savoie.

Dee is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Chiasson, Sr; parents, Adolph and Adele Giroir Bergeron; sister, Marie Bergeron Eskind and husband Albert.

Dee was loving, kind, generous, caring, and above all loved her family dearly. Anyone who knew Dee, knew she loved playing bingo, baking and cooking, find-a-word puzzle, po-ke-no, solitaire. Dee worked as a Technical Processing Clerk at the Terrebonne Parish Library until her retirement after 42 years of service, she was also a member of the Terrebonne Council of Aging. Earl and Dee was founding parishioners of Annunziata Catholic Church and She was a member of the Kay Cee Auxiliary and Altar Society. She loved to attend church and praying the rosary daily. Dee leaves this world behind to be united with her family who passed before her. May she rest in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Terrebonne Parish Library in her name, or your favorite charity or Masses.
