Vivian Prosperie

Vivian Josephine Prosperie, age 84, a native and resident of Houma, LA passed away Wednesday August 1,2018 at 12:20 AM.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Montegut, LA from 9:00AM until service time. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin Saturday at 11:00AM with burial to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Mrs. Vivian is survived by her sons, Glynn A. Prosperie and wife Cindy, Harold J. Prosperie and wife Bertha, and Elie J Prosperie and wife Penny; daughters, Gwendolyn Prosperie Thibodeaux and husband Milton, Anna Prosperie Sides and husband Thomas, and Tina Prosperie Garibotte and husband Danny; sisters, Mollie Falgout and Barbara Savoie, sister-in-law, Wilma Savoie; grandchildren, Mindy Prosperie, Toby Prosperie, Michael Leger, Krystall Dufrene, Lee Prosperie, Hunter Prosperie, Coby Prosperie, Cy Thibodeaux, Heidi Whipple Authement and Hanna Whipple, Joshua Garibotte, Elise Garibotte;    seventeen great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Vivian was preceded in death by her loving husband, Alvin Joseph Prosperie; parents, Elias Savoie and Lucille Levron Savoie; brothers, Clifton Savoie, Louis Savoie, Harold Savoie, and Jimmy Savoie; sisters, Lela Savoie, Elma Demulder, Rita Prosperie, and Thelma Billiot.

Vivian was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother. The family enjoyed her cooking. She had a devotion to her Faith and often attended Mass and singing in the choir.

Vivian will always be remembered and never ever forgotten.

The family would like to thank Heritage Manner and their staff, Terrebonne General Medical Center and staff, AMG LTac and staff; and all her doctors who cared for her; most especially Dr. Russell Henry.
