Viles “Old Crow” Joseph Crochet, Jr., age 93, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2018. He was a native of Gibson and a resident of Houma, LA.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 beginning at 9:30 am until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am with burial following in church cemetery.
Viles is survived by his son, Patrick J. Crochet and wife, Patricia; daughters, Anne C. Rainier and husband, Larry, Paula C. Adams and husband, Keystol, Pamela C. Weeks and Claudia Crochet; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
Viles is preceded in death by his wife, Rosella Griffin Crochet; parents, Viles Joseph Sr and Hazel Trahan Crochet; son, Kevin M. Crochet; daughter, Erica Joan Crochet; grandson, David Velasquez; brother, Thomas J. Crochet; sister, Dorothy C. Champagne.
Old Crow was a daily parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church where he served as an usher for many years. He served in the US Navy during WWII as a Motor Machinist's Mate Second Class. He was a member of the VFW 3700. He worked for J.C. Armature as a marine electrician for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and carving duck decoys. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
