Verna Ann (Malbrough) Runge, 76, a native and resident of Houma, passed away September 28, 2018.
She is survived by her sons, Dwin-Allen Runge, Christopher Runge I; her daughter, Brandy (Malbrough) Runge-Dombrowski; sons-in-law, Garry Dombrowski II, Calvin White; brother, Jordan Malbrough.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Derrick Runge, Saunceria (White ) Hebert, Savanna White, Megan White, Ti’Leana Runge, Christopher Runge II, Kennedy and Abel Dombrowski; great-grandchildren, Tyler White, Christian White, Modesty Wilson, Hunter Hebert, Xander Lebouef, Cullen Hebert, Brylee Henley , Landry Weldon, Rayden Heard, and Rari Heard; step-grandchild, Chelsea Windwehen; step great grandchild, Sydney Hebert.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold “Dwane” Runge; parents, Linwood “Chummy” Malbrough and Marion (Guillot) Malbrough; sons, Dwane Runge, Dural-Lin Runge; daughter, Modesty (Runge) White; brother, Linwood Malbrough and sister-in-law, Donna (Comp) Malbrough.
There were countless others that she cared for, counseled, and mentored. She was a very loving and giving person. She was tough when warranted, but always had the best interests of others in mind. She was a lady of short stature, but had a big, independent and, yes; even, hard- headed personality. As her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren grew, it was a rite of passage to get to be taller than her. Her response was always the same, “It’s not hard to be taller than me, it’s being smarter than me you have to work for.” She will be deeply missed and remembered every day.
