She is survived by her five loving daughters, Kim Knobloc, Jenica Delgado, and Stacy Gray, Gwendolyn Lovell, and Tammy Lovell; her beloved grandchildren, Autumn, Jasper, Tanner, Joseph Jr., Hannah, Johanna, Andrew, Jacob, Destiny, Ricky, and Torie; and her 13 great-grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Edven Sr., and Florence Robichaux; sisters, Virginia and Virdrine; brothers, Vergus, Vernis, and Edven; and her infant son Jasper Gray.
She was loved by all who knew her. While she was married in her lifetime, she was a force that no man could tame. She spoke her mind freely and often, while always valuing the person over any difference of opinion. If she ever met a stranger, they didn’t stay that way for long. She truly could make a friend out of anyone, even an enemy. Her heart was to give, and she would help anyone whenever she could. And often times even when she couldn’t. While everyone who met her saw a different piece of what made this woman special, we will all remember her as the bigger and louder than life woman that she was. Her conversations, stories, songs, and musings will live on in every one of us whom she loved so freely, and who loved her back.
Chauvin Funeral Home and Crematory is honored to serve the family of Verna Oberholtzer.
