Veralyn Ann Thibodeaux Price, age 77, passed away on November 3rd, 2023. She was a native and longtime resident of Chauvin,
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, from 10:30 am until service time at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Veralyn is survived by her children, Jimmie Price Jr. (Amy), Trisha U Lapeyrouse (Jerome), and Josie P Breaux (Brian); grandchildren, Ashley P Orlando (J.R.), Erica Price (Matt Jackson), Katelyn Dardar (Tate), Evan Unbehagen (Shay'a), Ian and Caleb Breaux; great-grandchildren, Sienna and Lewis Orlando, Aubrey Ledet, Presley Dardar and Michay'a Unbehagen; sisters, Sandra Machen (Robert "Rock"), and Judy Theriot ( Herman); brothers-in-law, William "Yom" Price (Pauline), and Ronald Price (Donna); sisters-in-law, Margaret LeBouef, Wendy Guidry (Dirk), Barbara Price, and Desiree' Price.
Veralyn is preceded in death by her husband Jimmie Price Sr.; parents, Roy E and Leola Thibodeaux; in-laws, Henry Price Jr. and Effie Bourg Price; son-in-law, Jeffrey Unbehagen; grandson, Andre' Unbehagen; sister, Jeannie T Louviere; brothers-in-law's, Cyrus Price, Timothy "Timmy'' Price, Henry "Pouchy'' Price, Angelo Roberts, Gary Louviere, and Edward "Brother'' LeBouef; sisters-in-law's, Vivian (Royal "Roy") Marie and Susy Price.
Veralyn was married to her high school sweetheart of 57 years. Together, they shared three wonderful children. She and Jimmie had a house rental business, Price's Rentals, where she managed finances, operations, as well as painting and repairing many houses.
She loved to travel. Be it cruising the Caribbean, camping, or seeing the U.S. She did all with family and friends and made memories with so many people. Her volunteer work included the Lagniappe Fair for its full lifecycle as well as sponsoring several children in foreign countries and tracked their growth and progress as they grew and reached adulthood. She retired from St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin as Director of Religious Education after over 40 years of dedicated service spanning several ministries. During this time she taught her faith to thousands of children in addition to recruiting and coaching many religious education teachers and other lay ministers. Veralyn came out of retirement for a number of years to teach confirmation to candidates at St. Ann Catholic Church in Bourg.She was a woman of God who shared her faith with many.
