Velma Paris

Velma Elizabeth Miller Paris, age 88, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday, September 27, 2021. She was a native of Jefferson, TX and a resident of Houma, LA.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday, October 4, 2021, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 a.m.

Velma is survived by her son, Bobby W. Paris, Sr. and wife, Jenny; daughters, Judy P. Olivier and husband, Ronnie, Debra "Debbie" P. Naquin and husband, Robin, and Melissa "Missy" P. Boudreaux and husband, Eric; son-in-law, Danny “Spoon” Adams; sister, Sherlie M. Collins; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Velma is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Calvin Wayne Paris; parents, John Isaac and Georgia Scruggs Miller; daughter, Norma "Normie" P. Adams; grandson, Chad Olivier; brothers, Gerald, Rayburn, and Paul Miller.

Velma was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.  She enjoyed gardening, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all whose hearts she touched.
