Theresa Fournier

Theresa R. Fournier, 87, a native of Larose, LA and a resident of Houma, LA passed away on February 19, 2022 at 7:17 pm surrounded by her children. Visitation will be Thursday, February 24, 2022 at 9 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 11 am St. Louis Catholic Church on Bayou Blue. A private family burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. She is survived by her children, Wanda Babin (Daniel), Claire Melancon (Matt), Tammy Boquet (Robert), Julie Fournier, Dean Fournier (Denise), sister, Barbara Fournier, and sisters-in-law Barbara Ann Hall White and Melva Fournier, 18 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, U.J. Fournier, son, Brian J. Fournier, parents, Robert & Mary Orgeron Rodrigue, brother, Robert Rodrigue, sisters, Daisy Belle Brunet, Eloise Collins, Earline Pierce, and Nelda Toups. Theresa was a homemaker for more than 60 years and a cosmetologist for 25 years. She was a member of the St. Louis Choir and the Bereavement Committee . She loved to teach her grandchildren how to cook, bake, and speak Cajun French, and she was an avid gardener. Special thanks to her caregivers Ronda Rodrigue, Kayla Plaisance, and Diana Chaisson for the many months of their loving care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research hospital.
