Sue was a graduate of Hotel Dieu School of Nursing in 1950. She came to Houma in 1954 to help open Terrebonne General Hospital, where she worked for Mother Blanche and the nuns who ran the hospital back then. She married F. Kenton Bueche in 1957 and together they raised their eight children. These were the best times of her life, working hard and raising her kids and having more kids, and taking family vacations, and having big B-B-Q’s or seafood boils – She was quite a character in those days!!! In the early 1980’s she retired to take care of Kenton who died of cancer in 1984. She never married again. In her later years she enjoyed quite a few casino trips. She was a country girl at heart who loved animals and the great outdoors. She was all about family togetherness. She was well known in the community because she delivered so many babies, as she was an OB nurse for most of her career. May she rest in peace.
The family would like to thank the Doctors and Medical staffs of Dr. Fail, Dr. Anil, Dr. Guidry, Dr. Walker, Dr. Ongeron, Dr. Abbot, and the Staff at Terrebonne General Hospital, and also Rhonda and Lanie at CIS.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to St. Jude’s Childrens’ Hospital.
Chauvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the Bueche family.
