Stephen Wise

Stephen Alvin Wise, 76, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, August 28, 2021.

Visitation for our beloved Stephen will be Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 9:00 AM at Chauvin Funeral Home with Mass to follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will be held at a later date.

Stephen is survived by his loving wife, Elise St. Julien Breaux Wise (Lisette); two daughters, Elise Anderson (Poupee) and Stephanie Trahan (Gigi) and her husband Jordan; three grandchildren who he adored, Parker Anderson, Adeline Trahan, and Juliette Trahan; mother, Ruby Dunn Wise; and two sisters, Elizabeth Tripp and Jeanette Wise.

He is preceded in death by his father, Cedric Wise; nephews, Kerry Taylor and Bernard F. Breaux III; and niece, Karen Tripp McAbee.

He was born in Springhill, LA and received a degree in civil engineering from LA Tech in Ruston. He worked as a civil engineer and also in oil production. Steve met Lisette in Houma, and they married in 1969 where they settled and raised their family. Steve loved his family, was an avid football fan, especially LSU, loved his work, and the people he worked with. Riding in the Krewes of Houmas and Terreanians was also one of his favorite pastimes.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his memory may be made to Vandebilt Catholic High School. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
