Stephen "Smitty" Smith

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Stephen “Smitty” Smith announces his passing on Thursday, April 28, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.

A visitation will be held in his honor at Chauvin Funeral Home on Monday, May 2, 2022, from 9AM until the Religious Service at 11AM. Burial will follow at St. Francis De Sales #2.

Stephen is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Laura Dove Smith; son, Cole Smith, his wife, Chantelle, and their children, Emily, Samantha, and Alexander; daughter, Shona Babin and her children, Isabelle and Ian; and daughter, Courtney, her husband, David Lambas, and their children, Rhett and Chase; and siblings, Edward, Belinda, Milton Jr.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton Sr. and Rita Smith; brother, Wayne Smith; father and mother-in-law, Billy and Earline Dove.

Stephen proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Stephen owned Willco of Houma and served his community as proudly as he served his country. He was a member of the Houma Shriners Motorcycle Escort Club. Stephen was immensely proud of his family. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all those who had the honor to know and love him.
