Sherry Anne Lirette

Sherry Anne Griffin Lirette, age 66, passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2021, surrounded by her loving children. Sherry was a native of Lockport and a longtime resident of Houma.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation in the Magnolia Chapel of Chauvin Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 p.m. with burial to follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Sherry is survived by her husband Carl Lirette, Sr.; son, Carl Lirette, Jr. and wife Lisa; daughter, Torie Lirette Marcel and husband Andy; grandchildren, Athena and companion Tanner, Ebony and companion Monte, Tavian, Aviana, Drake and wife Jessica, Austin, Makaila, Gabrielle and husband Justin, and Anthony; great-grandchildren, Keaton, Inara, Emerson, Rowan, and expected baby Harlyn. Sherry is also survived by siblings, Norris, Jr. “Coco”, Bobby, Jimmy, Frances, Kayla, Kathy, Helen, Judy, Marilyn, and Russell.

Sherry is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph, Sr. “Norris” and Lillian Vedros Griffin; daughter, Shawayna Lirette; brother, Andrew; sister, Vivian.

Sherry was a beautiful woman who loved her family dearly and adored her grand and great grandchildren. Anyone who knew Sherry, knew she was always collecting items to help others in need, staying busy, and enjoying her time at the casino. Sherry always looked out for others, she loved everyone, and will be remembered for her kindness.  Sherry is now reunited with her beautiful daughter, Shawayna.
