Shawn DeHart

Shawn Hillary DeHart, age 47, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021. He was a native of Houma and a resident of Lake Charles.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation in Chapel Dauphine of Chauvin Funeral Home on Friday, January 22, 2021 beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the Religious Service conducted by Fr. Craig beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic; local and CDC regulations require facemask and proper social distancing while attending funeral services. 

Shawn is survived by mother, Marion Marcel; children, Shawn Allen DeHart, Shelly DeHart, Saul DeHart, and Alexia DeHart; grandchildren, Nathanael DeHart and Natalie DeHart; grandmother, Mary Jane DeHart; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Shawn is preceded in death by his father, Hillary DeHart; maternal grandfather, Allen Marcel, Sr. and wife Eva F. Marcel; paternal grandfather, Eugis DeHart.

Shawn was a loving man who loved his family dearly and adored his grandchildren. He enjoyed life and was always fun, loving, and had a beautiful smile.  Anyone who knew Shawn, knew that he had a big heart and was overall a great man. He was also a hard worker and enjoyed fishing. He was a blessing to many, he will be greatly missed and now rests in the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
