Sarah McGee

Sarah Dartez McGee, age 77, passed away surrounded by her loving family at her home on August 28, 2017. She was a native of Port Arthur, TX and a resident of Houma, LA. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home on Friday, September 1, 2017 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Saturday, September 2, 2017 from 9:00 am until funeral time at 11:00 AM. Burial will be held in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Sarah is survived by her husband of 58 years, Kenneth Byrd McGee, Sr.; son, Kenneth B. McGee, Jr and wife, Becky; daughter, Kathy M. Herring and husband, Edward; sister, Annie Periou and husband, James; grandchildren, Nikki Herring Geesling and husband, Michael, Kyle McGee, Sr. and wife, Nicole, Rachel Herring Landrus and husband, Zachary, and Lindsey McGee Waitz and husband, Joseph, III; great-grandchildren, Tucker Landrus, Kyle “K.J.” McGee, Jr. and Joseph Waitz, IV. Sarah is preceded in death by parents, Ulysse and Lita Vincent Dartez; brother, John Dartez and wife, Barbara; sisters, Rose Richard, Willa Mae Dartez, and Maude Taylor and husband, Paul; “Special” sister-in-law, Betty Jo McGee. She was a member of Grand Caillou Baptist Church. Mawmaw had a kind soul who loved nothing more than to cook for and spoil her grandkids and great-grandkids. She would light up during Christmas while celebrating the season with her family. She will be dearly missed, but her love and memories will be with us forever.
