Ruth Ziepke

Ruth Julia Ledet Ziepke, age 79, a native and resident of Houma, LA passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2021.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation in Chapel Dauphine of Chauvin Funeral Home on Saturday, June 5, 2021beginning at 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Louis Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Ruth is survived by her children; Melissa (Angelo) Hutchinson, Melody (Jerry) Arceneaux, Scott (Anne) Ziepke; grandchildren, Chase and Chad Hutchinson, Chelsea (Justin) Lirette, Chandler (Brooke), Charlton and Christian Arceneaux, Adam (Brienne) and Alex Ziepke; great grandchildren, Brooklyn and Boston Lirette and Noelle Ziepke; sisters-in-law, Norma Ledet, Sharon Robling, Ginnie (Darryl) Wikoff, and Sally McCarney; brother-in-law, James (Velaire) Ziepke.

Ruth is preceded in death by her husband Paul Ziepke; mother, Enola and stepfather, Wallace Thibodaux; father, Walton Ledet; brother, Bobby W. Ledet; mother-in-law, Virginia Holzhauer.

Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed family gatherings, all sporting events that involved her grandchildren, and spent many years working and providing for her family. She was a para-professional and secretary for Terrebonne Parish School Board until her retirement. Family meant everything to Ruth and she will be dearly missed and now reunited with her family who passed before her and rests in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

The family expresses their gratitude to Lakeside Hospice with special thanks to Danielle Chauvin and Jessica Bryant and all who cared for Ruth along the way.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Diabetes Association or any organization of your choice in honor of Ruth.
