Russell James (NONC) Fanguy, aged 74 years, a native and resident of Houma, passed away on Monday February 26,2018 .
Visitation will be on Friday March 2,2018 in the Chapel Magnolia of Chauvin Funeral Home from 5 PM until 10 PM, and on Saturday March 3,2018 from 8 AM until service time. Services will be at 11 AM, with interment to follow in St. Louis Cemetery, Bayou Blue,LA
Russell is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Irene Freeman Fanguy. His loving daughters, Sheila Rigaud and husband Randall and Shirley (RAJUN CAJUN) LeBouef and fiance’ Jack Lanning. He is also survived by his sisters Margaret Taylor and Theresa Duplantis and loving grandchildren, Shawn and Shantel LeBouef, Rusty and Zackery Santiny, Shawntel Price, Shay Rigaud and Chelsea Vortisch, and great grandchildren, Presley and Kipton Price and Preston Vortisch.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Amelia Crochet Fanguy. One son Infant Russell Jr., daughter Cindy Santiny, grandson Brandon Vortisch, son-in-law, Dale P. LeBouef, brothers, Easton Sr., Junius, Donald, Francis and Morris Fanguy and sisters Bertha Naquin and Helena Crochet.
Mr. Russell was a self- employed appliance repairman and a Terrebonne Parish School bus driver for 30 years, whose favorite hobby was family and fishing who also considered his students as his extended loving family. He was a kind and gentle soul who will be missed by all who loved him. He was a parishioner of Living Word Church.
Pallbearers will be Shawn LeBouef, Gregory Freeman, Carl Freeman, Jr., David Mounts, Rusty Santiny, Vincent Naquin, Barry Fanguy and Tommy Taylor.
