Ruby Hebert Savoie, 99, a native of Montegut, and a longtime resident of Bourg, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, April 2, 2023.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation in her honor on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 3:00 p.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church. Burial to follow at church cemetery.
Ruby is survived by her granddaughter, Shelly Savoie (partner, Melanie Comeaux); sister, Coralie Ellender; stepchildren, Weldon Savoie, Jr. (Elena), Judith Savoie Farmer, Jodith Savoie, and Deborah Savoie; grandchildren, Shannon Jakabosky, Hayley and Hannah Savoie, Troy and Mitchel Matherne, Casie and Brook Boutte; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Weldon Savoie, Sr.; parents, Anthony Hebert and Hazel Blanchard Hebert; sister, Norma Wilson; and brothers, Luby “Bobby” Hebert and Reggie Hebert.
Ruby was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a member of the Terrebonne Fine Arts Guild for several years as a featured artist. Ruby enjoyed sewing, painting, reading, and cooking for her family. Ruby was on a Senior bowling team with her late husband, Weldon for a few years until he became ill. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time at the family property in Mississippi. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
