Ruben "Coon" Cunningham

Ruben “Coon” Reynolds Cunningham, 91, a native and resident of Houma passed away Saturday December 22,2018 at 2:47 AM.

Visitation will be held on Friday December 28 ,2018 at St. Bridget Catholic Church 100 Highway 311 Schriever, LA from 9:30 AM untill Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Interment in St. Bridget Mausoleum.

Mr. Ruben is survived by his son Robert and wife Tina Cunningham and daughters Ruby Cunningham and Christine Roddy; brother Jerry J. Cunningham and grandchildren Curtis and Mitchell Malbrough, Kim M. LaJaunie, Steven Cunningham, Bridgette Underdonk, Elizabeth and Christopher Roddy, Erika Walker, Brandy Williams and Shawn Heck, and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Mayola B. Cunningham; parents Harry J. and Lena Molaison Cunningham; brothers Arthur and Roy Cunningham, Sr.

Mr. Ruben was a loving husband, father, and grandfather whose family and friends were considered to be of great importance. He loved all unconditionally. He enjoyed woodworking, craft making, making knives and doing electrical work.

Mr. Ruben was a pile driver, retiring from Texaco after 31 years of service. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 3700 and a WWII veteran in the U.S. Air Force.
