Royce Naquin

Royce Joseph Naquin, 86, a native of Pointe Aux Chenes and a resident of Houma, LA passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2017.  Royce is survived by daughter Jacqueline (Jackie) Naquin Duthu and husband Mark, son Jody Paul Naquin and wife Lauren Ellis Naquin, daughter in law Roanna (Peanut) Kern Naquin, grandchildren; Dale Luke, Jr., Kevin Duthu, Sarah Naquin, Jason Naquin and Jared Naquin along with five great-grandchildren, and is also survived by his brother Russell P. Naquin and wife Beverly Bourg Naquin.  He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Gloria Dufresne Naquin, son Barry Paul Naquin, and his parents, Butler Jerome and Mable Neal Naquin. Royce was retired in 1993 as Area Manager with 30+ years for Woodmen of the World Life Insurance Society.  His passions were traveling the USA and Canada with Gloria in their motorhome, cooking for groups both large and small and making new lifelong friends all while doing so.  His outdoor cooking at the many campgrounds they visited was always a hit with those who had never experienced true Cajun cuisine and the aroma of onions browning for a roux or jambalaya.  He always had a magic trick to show, loved his yardwork and flowerbeds, was always watching scenic or educational TV programs and was the ultimate people person who had never met a stranger. Services will be held at Chauvin Funeral Home, 5899 Highway 311, Houma, LA on Friday, June 2nd.  Visitation will begin at 9:00am with funeral services at 11:00am.  Graveside services immediately following at Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery at 8594 E Main St, Houma, LA.
