Royal Martinez

Royal "Roy" P. Martinez, 88, a native of Raceland and a resident of Houma, LA, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at 4:43am.

Family and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church from 9:00am until service time. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow visitation at St. Gregory Church at 11:00am with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2.

Roy is survived by his wife Anita Mazarac Martinez; sons, Kyle (Betty), Kory (Jackie); daughter, Kelli Fanguy (Keith Sr.); grandchildren, Kimberly (B.J) Hebert, Keith Fanguy Jr. (Shea), Dawson Martinez; great grandchildren, Ava Hebert, Bryant Hebert, Keith Fanguy III, Charles Fanguy; brother, Raynal Martinez (Hazel); sister-in-law, Mary "Kitty" Weimer Martinez.

Roy is preceded in passing by his parents, Gabriel J and Loreanna Terrebonne Martinez; brothers, Daniel Martinez (Lolita), Elmo Martinez (Faye), Gabriel Martinez Jr. (Marion); sister, Nannette Huber (William) and Jerry Martinez.

Roy was a hard working man and provided for his family in many ways. Roy showed through his example how to work hard and was a dedicated provider for his family.

He will be dearly missed and forever loved by his many friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, the family request Masses to be offered for Roy. The family also ask for donations to be considered to the American Cancer Society.
