Rose Marceaux

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 9:00 AM at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 409 Funderburk Street, Houma, LA., for Rose Marie Scurto Marceaux, age 92, who passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021 at Avanti Senior Living in Lafayette, LA. The family requests that visitation be observed at St. Bernadette Church on Friday from 8:30 AM until time of services.

Entombment will be in St. Francis Cemetery #2 in Houma, LA.

Reverend Andre Melancon will conduct the funeral services.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, J. B. Marceaux; her daughter, Denise M. Marceaux; her sons, Brian J. Marceaux and wife Stephanie, and Keith J. Marceaux;  her grandchildren, Sylvie M. Marceaux, Melissa McElroy and husband Kyle, Lerin Davis; her sister, Shirley Mae Walsh; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam J. Scurto and Rose Marie Scurto. 

Rose Marie was retired having worked for the Terrebonne Parish School System as the School Food Supervisor for over 25 years. She graduated from St. Mary's Dominican College in New Orleans, and later received her Masters Degree from Nicholls State University. She dedicated her time to many organizations, including La. Retired Teachers Association, Catholic Daughters of America, KKI Sorority, and the Literary Club of Houma to mention a few.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Rose Marie Marceaux's name to a charity of your choice.
