Roland Belanger

Roland Joseph Belanger, 95, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 7:21am.  Roland was a native and lifetime resident of Montegut, LA.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 from 9:00am until service time at the Montegut Fire Station. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin following visitation at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Montegut at 11:00am.  Burial will take place in the church cemetery.

Roland is survived by his sons, Dr. Kenneth Belanger, Lawrence “Brud” Belanger and wife Karen, Kevin Belanger and wife Roxane; daughter-in-law, Angela Belanger; sisters, Daisy Doescher, Myrtle Crochet; twelve grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Roland is preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette LeBoeuf Belanger; father, Adam Belanger; mother, Agnes Belanger; son, Barry Belanger; daughter-in-law, Bertha Gravois Belanger; brothers, Davis Belanger, Lawrence Belanger, step-brothers, Bernard Fabre and Rudolf Fabre; brothers-in-law, Carl Doescher, and Thomas Crochet.

Roland was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and provider for his family.  He proudly served the United States of America in the Marines in World War II.  He was a member of the American Legion (Montegut Post) as a past Commander. He enjoyed spending time and socializing with his many family and friends of the community.

The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses, and staff who cared for Roland; both in Houma and Thibodaux.

Roland will be dearly missed by his many family and friends throughout his life.

Roland was a life long parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Montegut, LA.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic; local and CDC regulations require facemask and proper social distancing while attending funeral services.
