Robert “Bobby” Joseph Domangue, born on July 11, 1941, left this world to join his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, passing away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on November 10, 2018, at the age of 77. Bobby was a native of Houma, Louisiana, and graduated from Terrebonne High School in 1959. He then began a life-long career in the oil field working for several oil field related companies. After 48 years of dedicated service to the industry, he retired from Nabors Offshore Drilling with distinction. Bobby also served the community as a Councilman on the Terrebonne Parish Government Council from 1984-1987. One of the greatest joys in Bobby’s life was raising his children and enjoying outdoor activities with them, such as camping, fishing, and coaching his sons’ youth baseball teams. He was a boxer in his younger days and later trained his sons in the sport of boxing. It was with this same fighting spirit that Bobby faced health challenges in his later life with courage and dignity. Bobby enjoyed his golden years with his beautiful wife, Linda, spending time at their fishing camp in Cocodrie and second home in West Palm Beach, Florida, visiting Linda’s family. He always loved returning to his roots in Louisiana where he enjoyed time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Bobby lived a full life and in his words, “had a great run.” He touched all those he knew and never met a stranger. He will be joining his parents, Harold J. Domangue, Sr. and Nell Augusta LeCompte Domangue; sister, Brenda Bergeron; brother-in-law, Gene Bergeron, Sr.; and in-laws, Ezra and Willa Boudloche. He is survived by his wife, Linda Boudloche Domangue; children, Bobette Talbot (Mark), Leigh Champagne (James), Marty Domangue (Danae), Kyle Domangue (Julie), and step-son, Brent Diaz (Annelle); grandchildren, Therese Talbot, Kayleigh Gordon (Patrick), Kandice Bergeron (Blake), Everette Talbot (M’Lea), Bryce Domangue (Kayla), Brady Domangue (Bailey), Kirstie Champagne (Lorran), Olivia Domangue, Emma Domangue, Kylie Domangue, and Brent Paul Diaz; great grandchildren, Joesi, James, Evan, Everette, Jacob, Ellis, and two more on the way; and siblings, Enos Domangue (Ethel), Agnes Bourg (Wayne), Harold Domangue, Jr. (Kathy), Kim Domangue (Sophia), and Ricky Domangue (Gayle). Visitation will be held at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Schriever on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 beginning at 9:30 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be held at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Gray. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Houston Methodist Hospital c/o Susan H. Coulter, J.D., 1707 Sunset Blvd., Houston, Texas 77005 or by a memorial book donation in his name at the Terrebonne Parish Library. The family would like to thank Dr. Russell Henry, St. Joseph’s Hospice (nurse Julia), and especially Dr. Ahmad Goodarzi and his team at Houston Methodist Hospital for their heartfelt care and comfort.
