Rita Ayers

Rita Saia Ayers, 93, passed away on January 16, 2018 at 8:45PM. She was a native and resident of Houma, LA.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at St. Francis De Sales Cathedral from 9:30AM to service time. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday at 11:30AM with burial to take place in St. Francis De Sales Cemetery #2 on later date.

Rita is survived by her daughters, Judy Ayers Bryant and husband Gerald and Linda A. Ayers; grandchildren, Gerald Bryant Jr. and wife Tammy, Trent C. Bryant, Tammy Bryant Spaulding and husband Tony, Scott C. Ayers; great grandchildren, Gabrielle Bryant, Bethany Bryant, Evan Bryant, Tristyn Browning, and Scott Overton.

Rita is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse J. Ayers; parents, Louis Saia Sr. and Christine Fazzio Saia; sons, Jesse L. Ayers, Robert J. Ayers; brothers, Vincent Saia, John L. Saia, Louis Saia Jr.; and sister, Christine Saia Jones.

Rita was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxillary; St. Francis De Sales Alter Society, and Houma Kaycee Ladies Auxillary.

Her passion was cooking. She loved being in the kitchen cooking Italian food. Meatballs were her specialty.
