Pierre Solet

Pierre “August” Solet, age 77 passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, October 21, 2017. He was a native and a resident of Dulac, LA. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation in the Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 5899 Hwy 311 beginning at 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Thursday, October 26, 2017 beginning at 8:00 am until the funeral service at Chauvin Funeral Home with service at 10 AM. Burial will be held in Holy Family Cemetery, Dulac, LA. Pierre is survived by wife of 54 years, Theresa Ann Gregoire Solet; sons, Darren D. (Theresa) Solet, Wayne R. (Angela) Solet, and Hank H. (Samantha) Solet; daughter, Amamphes E. Solet; brothers, Joseph Solet, Junius "June" (Linda) Solet, and Raymond "Jimmy" Solet; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. Pierre is preceded in death by daughter, Janina Marie Solet; parents, Adam Robert and Marie Eve Verdin Solet; brothers, Robert and Antoine Solet; sisters, Eva Catherine and Anna Solet. Pierre was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed fishing, fixing things, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren. He had a strong affection for cats. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Chauvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the Solet family.
