Paul “Clyde” Lirette, age 89 passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, January 11, 2018. He was a native and a resident of Chauvin.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Chauvin, Monday, January 15, 2018 beginning at 9:00 am until service time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am. Burial will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Clyde is survived by his sons, Kurt A. Lirette and wife, Sandra Eschete, Michael P. Lirette and wife, Nadine Picou, and David J. Lirette; daughter, Mona L. Pope and husband, Odis Jr.; brothers, Claude Lirette and wife, Merle, Linwood "Nacky" Lirette, Sr. and wife, Merle, and Anthony "Jr." Lirette and wife, Theresa; sister, Fasie Dupre and husband, Terry; grandchildren, Trina Pope Fanguy and husband, Timothy, Thea Pope Picou and husband, Rusty, Christopher Lirette and wife, Linda, Paul Lirette and wife, Erin, Brett Lirette and wife, Annika, Layne Lirette and fiancé, Sierra, Brad Lirette, and Sydney Lirette and Cullen; great-grandchildren, Jordan and Julian Fanguy, Timothy, Eli and Olivia Picou, Phoenix, Penelope and Bernadette Lirette.
Clyde is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Myriam “Blonde” LeBlanc Lirette; parents, Henry and Pearly Babin Lirette; great-grandchild, Madison Ann Picou.
Clyde was retired from Chet Morrison Contractors. He was a member of the Ward 7 Citizens Club, and Council on Aging. He enjoyed dancing, fishing, and bike riding. He loved his dogs Ca Va’ and Meyon. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
