Paul Merlin Bergeron, age 88, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at 8:18 p.m. He was a native and resident of Houma, LA.
A private graveside service will be held in St. Francis de Sales #2 Cemetery.
Paul is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mary Jane Trahan Bergeron; sons, Philip and Thomas Bergeron (Sue); daughters, Bonnie B. Verrett (Dinah Danos) and Phyllis Callahan and husband, Allen “Bubby”; brother, Joseph Bergeron; sisters, Evelyn Bethancourt, Wanda Hook and Virginia Pellegrin; grandchildren, Chris Bergeron, Thai Callahan and wife, Sherry May, and Austin Verrett (Ashley); great-grandchildren, Bayah Bergeron and Aubrey Verrett.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Joseph and Emelie M. Hebert Bergeron; brothers, Clarence, Raymond, John, and Robert Bergeron; sisters, Doris B. Pitre, and Josephine LeBouef
Paul was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a parishioner of Maria Immaculata Catholic Church. He retired as an A.G.R.I research Technician. He was an Army LCpl in the US Army serving during the Korean War from March 19, 1953 until January 4, 1955. He will be dearly missed by all whose hearts he touched.
