Morris John Liner, age 89, gained his wings Wednesday August 12, 2020 at 12:36 PM. He was a native and long time resident of Theriot, La.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a wake for Morris Liner, Sunday August 16, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Chauvin Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Monday, August 17, 2020 from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 PM at St. Eloi Catholic Church with burial to follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Morris is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Shirley Lovell Liner; children, Karen Billiot and husband LeRay Billiot, Warren Liner Sr. and wife Diana, LuCinda Wilson and husband Willie Wilson, Valerie Verdin, Melanie Liner, Harold Liner and wife Corrie Liner; grandchildren, Terrell Verdin and wife Monica, Consuela Punch and husband Colby Sr., Tericka Paul and husband Arvin, Warren Liner Jr., Tenicka Dobson, Anitra Thomas and husband Matt, Kiley Liner and wife Shawndy, Cassandra Parfait, Fallon Robichaux and husband Clay Sr., Matthew Wilson, Danielle Dehart, Cynthia Hutto and husband Matt, Hannah Liner; great-grandchildren, Taylor Brassette and husband Dustin, Alyssa Dobson, Tyler Clophus, Colby Punch Jr. , Bryce Dobson, Lainey Liner, Kirsten Crochet, Allie Clophus, Jasmin Dobson, Tanner Liner, Mia Verdin, Landon Robichaux, Kallie Liner, Mattie Thomas, Tristen DeHart, Joseph Parfait, Kinzlee Robichaux, Bralyn DeHart, Evan Paul, Carter Thomas, Colton Robichaux, Clay Robichaux Jr., Kynadee Robichaux, Connner DeHart, Reed Verdin, Landry Liner, Isaac Hutto; great-great grandchildren, Eli Liner, Kohen Brassette; sisters, Claudia “Totsy” Liner Hebert, Emmadell Liner Voisin and husband Chester.
Morris is preceded in death by his parents, Stanley Eloi Liner and Bessie May Gray Liner; brothers, Claude Liner Sr., Horace Liner, Henry Liner, Collins Liner Sr.; sister Angeline “Lil Susie” Liner; son-in-law, Joseph Cleveland Verdin.
Morris was a loving husband, father, and grandpa. He was an outdoorsman who loved gardening, his cattle, especially Mr. Curly his favorite bull, and spending time with his family and friends. Morris was a true Cajun man who loved trapping, commerical fishing and hunting. His favorite holiday was Christmas where he enjoyed making his own wooden lawn decorations. He also enjoyed attending Mass at St. Eloi on Sundays. He will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.
