Mickey Smith

Mickey Joseph Smith, 51, passed away on March 11, 2018 at 8:35PM. He was a native of Chauvin, LA and resident of Houma, LA.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday; March 13, 2018 at Chauvin Funeral Home from 5:00PM until 9:00PM and on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 9:30AM until service time at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin after visitation starting at 11:30AM. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Mickey is survived by his loving companion Vickie Babin; Father, Nolan Smith; son, Coby Smith; sister, Vanessa Smith Martin and husband Thomas; nephew, Chad Martin and wife Dristi-Lynn; great nephews, Savion Martin; God-Children, Jamie Martin and wife Crystal, Toni Foret, Julia and Sarah Martin.

Mickey is preceded in death by his Mother, Agnes Dupre Smith; paternal grandparents, Noeline and Ozema Smith; maternal grandparents, Clifton and Mildred Dupre.

Mickey was well known at his skill with welding. He would often take on welding jobs for family and friends. Mickey loved to fish would fish around the surrounding lakes and bayou ways.

The family would like to thank Dr. Sutton and staff, the nurses and staff at T.G.M.C. and Ochsner Medical Center; and Passages Hospice for their love and care during the family’s time of need. The family would also like to give a special thanks for Mickey’s extended family at Force Power for their support and well wishes.
