Michael Lee McGee, 65, a native of Houston, Texas and resident of Flomaton, Alabama went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 3:30 PM.
Visitation will be held at St. Francis Cathedral on Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 9:30 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM. Interment in Terrebonne Memorial Park.
Michael is survived by his sister Anne McGee Kelley (Arcus), loving daughters Anadee Lee McGee (Jonathan Modrynski) and Mary “Mary G” Monteiro Parfait (Cody). He was the grandfather of Drew, Torrie, and Brady Modrynski and Cody Jr. “Goose”, Gunner and Gabriella Parfait. Stepchildren Angela Faulk Boehm (Kurt) and Jesse Lee Benoit (Tasha). Step-grandchildren Jacquelyn Broussard, Lancelot, Mary Jane and Alexander Boehm, Christopher and Zachary Benoit. He also leaves behind to mourn his passing his loving companion Jan Cancienne, daughter Amber Cancienne Hebert (Willie), and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Roller McGee, beloved parents Edward C. Jr and Nixene Snow McGee, brother Edward “Buddy” C. McGee, III.
Mike McGee had a deep love for his family and spent most of his life racing anything with a motor, but his favorites were dirt bikes and late model dirt cars and most recently go-karts. He worked as a traveling pipeline welder and most recently as a lead welder inspector and has touched the lives on the many people he met on the pipeline from New Mexico to Pennsylvania. Mike McGee never met a stranger and was kind to everyone he encountered.
The McGee family would like to thank the Kimble County Sheriff’s Office, all of agencies involved in the search and rescue efforts, the communities of Junction, TX and Flomaton, AL for their tireless efforts and support during this difficult time.
