Michael Clement, Sr.

Michael Oliver Clement, Sr., 72, passed away surrounded by his loving wife and family on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 2:20 pm.  Michael was a native of Houma, LA and resident of Bourg, LA.

Family and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, November 26, 2021 at St. Ann Church in Bourg, LA from 9:00 am until service time.  A Mass of Christian Burial will begin following visitation at 11:00am.  Burial will take place in the church cemetery.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Belinda; children: Michael, Jr. (Rhonda) and Russell (Leslie); grandchildren: Meaghan, Jordanne, Cameron, Caelyn, Kellsie and Makenzi; great grandchildren: Connor (Meaghan), Lainey (Jordanne) and Rhyleigh (stepdaughter to Meaghan); parents: Oliver and Vivian; brothers: Carson (Rowena) and Kurt (Lorraine); as well as numerous relatives and friends.

Michael was preceded in death by his brother, Chris Clement.

Mike was a U. S. Army Veteran and was very proud to have served his country.  After 35 years, he retired from Shell Oil Company as an Environmental Coordinator of the Gulf of Mexico Region.  He loved vacationing in Tennessee and driving his red mustang in the Smoky Mountains.  Mike also enjoyed fishing, doing woodwork, listening to country music and of course, LSU football and baseball.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends and participating in his grand children’s school and sporting events. Michael was a loving and caring husband, dad and pawpaw.

A special thanks to Dr. Russell Henry for being a very supportive physician and friend through the years; and to Bayou Homecare and Haydel Memorial Hospice for the care and support in his time of need.

We would also like to thank his family, friends and neighbors that helped with his care whether it was getting groceries, yard work, fixing things around the house and with/after Hurricane Ida.

Memorial donations may be made in Michael’s name to Disabled American Veterans at 1250 Poydras St. New Orleans, LA 70113.
