Merril Gautreaux Matherne

Merril Gautreaux Matherne, 80, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2023 at 9:54pm. Merril was a native and resident of Houma, LA.

Family and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm and resume at Chauvin Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 from 9:00am until service time.  A Mass of Christian Burial will begin on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at 11:00am with burial to follow in St. Eloi Cemetery in Theriot, LA.

Merril is survived by her loving family; her husband of sixty years, Glenn Matherne; her children, Daniel Matherne and wife Norma, Michelle Richaud and husband Parrish; grandchildren, Thomas Matherne, Kaylee Matherne, Shelby Richaud, Claire Richaud; brothers, Donald Gautreaux and Gerald Gautreaux.

Merril is preceded in passing by her parents, Nelson and Rosedell Darcey Gautreaux; and brother, Carroll Gautreaux.

Merril enjoyed riding her Harley Davidson all over the United States with her husband, Glenn. They have seen much of the United States by their adventures together.

Merril was a very compassionate, sweet, and loving person.  She was always a happy person who spread that joy to her entire family and anyone she met.

Merril will be deeply missed by her family and friends; but always and forever loved.
