Melinda "Grandma" Bailey

Melinda “Grandma” Evelyn Bailey, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was a native of Florence, Alabama and a resident of Gray, Louisiana.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home Saturday, December 15, 2018 in the Cypress Room beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the Reflection of Life Service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be held in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Evelyn is survived by her sons, Billy Banks, and Jimmy Banks and wife Lisa; step-daughter, Regina Parks and husband Peter; daughter-in-law, Wanda Banks; sisters, Pauline Bergeron, Mary Fain and husband David, Nancy Leonard and husband, Jerry; twelve grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Bailey; sons, Terry and Jerry Banks; parents, Ben and Viola McWilliams; three brothers and one sister.

Evelyn was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. To know her was to love her. If you came to her house, you didn’t leave hungry. After meeting her once you were part of her. She adopted several grandchildren through out her life.
