Melanie Boquet, age 53, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, November 22, 2017. She was a longtime resident of Houma. “ I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” 2 Timothy 4:7 Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church on Saturday, November 25, 2017 beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery Melanie is survived by her mother, Dorothy Degruise Boquet; husband, Sandel “Country” Bastian; daughters, Jamie Bergeron and husband Dustin, Renee Blanchard and husband Cody; grandchildren, Cambree, Tatum, Cohen, Maddox, and Charli; brothers, Matthew Boquet and wife Tammy, Mark Boquet, Kent Boquet and wife Debra, and Kurt Boquet; sisters, Connie Naquin and husband Randy, and Anita Boquet; Godchildren, Jessica Falgout, and Abbey Boquet. Melanie is preceded in death by her father, Julius Boquet. Melanie was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and Godmother. She was a personal trainer, nutritionist and proud owner of Powerhouse Gym of Houma. Melanie loved her family dearly and adored her grandchildren. Melanie’s daughters were blessed to have a beautiful mother, and they will forever cherish their trips to New York and other wonderful memories. Although she was very active with her business and family, she loved her Lord and had a very strong faith. Melanie was strong-willed, beautiful, kind-hearted, caring and loving. She left this world behind and is now reunited with her father, Julius and is in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Chauvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the Boquet family.
