Mathilda Verret

Mathilda Gregoire Verret, age 58, went home to the Lord on Tuesday, February 14, 2023. Born and raised in Dulac, LA, she spent all of her years on the bayou.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the memorial at Chauvin Funeral Home Saturday, February 25, 2023 from 9:00 AM until service time at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow at Holy Family Cemetery.

She survived by her husband, Glen Verret Sr., her daughters, Ivie and Hannah Verret (Sean Bruce), one granddaughter, Mellow Bruce, her mother Mary Evelyn Gregoire, her sister Pauline Bergeron (Pete Bergeron), her brother, Paul I. Gregoire, her god children, Jarred Gregoire (Jamie Gregoire) and Jacie Bergeron, niece and caregiver Kaiton Gregoire, and nieces and nephew, Madisen Bergeron, Colby Bergeron, and Devin Gregoire (Taylor Gregoire) and grand-nephew Rhen Gregoire.

She is preceded in death by her father, Paul A. Gregoire, her sister-in-law Roxanne Boudreax Gregoire, her grandparents, Pierre and Mathilda Gregoire, and Eddie and Marie Solet, and numerous aunts and uncles.

She enjoyed reading, watching Hallmark, and using her daughter’s facebook to keep up with the bayou. She spent her days running and setting the count for Hi-Seas of Dulac. She will be truly and deeply missed by those who loved her and called her mother, wife, daughter, sister, nanny, and friend.
