Mary Swofford

Mary Alice Armond Swofford, age 82, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 11:35 p.m. surrounded by her loving husband Glenn, her son Nathan Boudreaux and daughter-in-law, Sylvia Boudreaux. Mary is now reunited with her parents, sons, and grandsons. She was a longtime resident of Terrebonne Parish.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home in Chapel Dauphine on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until her Celebration of Life Service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery no. 2.

Mary is survived by her husband of thirty-six years, Glenn Swofford; sons, Nathan and Sylvia Boudreaux and Eddie Boudreaux; daughters, Cindy and husband Kendall Gilmer, and Darlene and husband David Chapman; brother, Whitney Jr. and wife Janice Armond; grandchildren, Joey and Ami Babi, Jessica and Casey Naquin, Kendall Jr., Christopher, and Jacob Gilmer, and Eddie Boudreaux Jr.; great-grandchildren, Joslyn, Brennon, Lyndi, and Micah Babin, Casey Jr., Zoe, and Corey, Ashton Naquin, and Baby Naquin on the way, Ella and Amelia Gilmer, Tyrone, Tyra, and Joseph Henderson; great-great-grandson, Ian Henderson. She is also survived by her best friends, Ruth Oubre and Jewel Babin.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Whitney Sr. and Alice Fanguy Armond; sons, Michael and Rickey Boudreaux; brothers, Houston, Easton, Bruce, and Alex Armond; grandchildren, Joshua Boudreaux and Corey Naquin.

Mary was a beautiful woman and was blessed with thirty-six beautiful years with her husband, Glenn. Mary loved her family dearly and would crochet blankets for each of them. Mary loved having a big family and loved gatherings, cooking and planting flowers.  She would travel with Glenn and thoroughly enjoyed the mountains and Vegas. Mary served and loved her Lord. She now rests in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
