Mark Anthony Bergeron

Mark Bergeron, 65, a resident of Gibson, LA, and native of Bayou Black, LA, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2023.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation in his honor on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at St. Anthony Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Bayou Black Cemetery.

Mark is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia Besson Bergeron, who stood by his side throughout their journey; daughters, Tonya Walther (Philip), Crystal Benoit (Tommy), Meagan Billiot (Travis); grandchildren, Bailey Benoit, Cole Billiot, Ava Walther, Lola Benoit, Makayla Billiot, and Charlotte Walther; sister, Mona Samanie (Glenn); mother-in-law, Verline Besson; brother-in-laws, Eddie, Craig, Darren, and Dondi Besson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in passing by his parents, Russell and Rose Mary Bergeron; father-in-law, Edward Besson; and maternal and paternal grandparents.

Mark, a medically retired and dedicated individual, graduated from high school and pursued a fulfilling career as an Electrical Technician. Mark embraced his time in nature. He enjoyed the thrill of deer hunting and the peace of fishing. It was during these moments that he found comfort in the nature around him.

As an avid sports fan, Mark fervently rooted for the Houston Astros, celebrating their victories, and taking solace in their defeats. However, he was known to have some friendly arguments with his friends and family who supported the New Orleans Saints, a team he had a complicated relationship with. Despite his passion for watching sports, Mark's true joy came from spending time with his beloved grandchildren and fur grandbabies. Their laughter and love brought him immense happiness, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

Mark will forever be remembered for his generous spirit and unwavering love for his family. His and Cynthia's bond was unbreakable and served as an inspiration to all who knew them.

In this time of mourning, let us celebrate the life of Mark Anthony Bergeron knowing he's at peace. He will forever remain in our hearts, and his memory will continue to inspire us all.
