Marie Katherine Saia, age 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Marie was born in Bridge City, N.O., was a resident of Lockport, and a longtime resident of Houma.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral home on Saturday, December 12, 2020 beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the Liturgy of the Word Service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Holy Savior Catholic Church Cemetery.
Marie is survived by her longtime companion, Randy Hence; children, Darlene Robichaux, Dean Saia, Angela Saia Rock and husband Keith, Tony Saia and wife Gayle, Chad Saia and wife Jodie, Troy Saia and fiancé Courtney; grandchildren, Carmen Robichaux Ishaq and husband Sharief, Heather Bychurch and husband Robert, Paige Saia, Amber Rock, Dustin Saia and wife Lexes, Kadie Saia, Isaiah Saia, Christian Saia, Destiny Saia, Dylan Saia and Carleigh Saia; great-grandchildren, Jayden, Xander, Jaycee, Ryder, Kacen, and Zeppelin Saia, Kaitlyn, Makayla, and Blake Bychurch; sister, Stella Adams
Marie is preceded in death by her husband, Angelo Salvatore Saia; parents, Joseph and Leona Savin Adams, daughter, Lisa Saia; grandson, Destin Michael Saia; sisters, Josephine Adams, Beulah Cheramie, Rita Boudreaux; half-sisters; Eula Triche, Jane Russo, Jean T. Arceneaux, Beulah T. Savage, Sally Triche, Eula T. Collins, Evelyn T. Serigny; brothers, Elson Adams, Lee Adams, half-brothers, John Triche Jr., Charles Triche, Wilson “Buck” Triche, William Triche; son-in-law, Gary Robichaux.
Marie was a hard-working woman and was devoted to caring for her family. She was loving, caring, great-cook, and enjoyed having family gatherings. Marie taught her children the value of loving your family and working hard to be a great provider. She was strong in her faith and prayed for many. The legacy she leaves behind will continue to teach others to love one another. She fought a good fight. She has now been reunited with all those who passed before her and now rests in her heavenly kingdom that Jesus promised us. We Love You Mom! Thank you for loving us unconditionally.
