Mamie Trahan

Mamie Margaret Trahan, age 97, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday, February 5, 2018 at 5:30 am. She was a native and a resident of Houma.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday, February 8, 2018 beginning at 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Maria Immaculata Catholic Church on Friday, February 9, 2018 beginning at 9:00 am until the funeral service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am. Burial will be held in St. Anthony Cemetery in Bayou Black.

Mamie is survived by her son, Linwood P. Trahan; daughter, Adeline T. Rodrigue; grandchildren, Sherry Rodrigue and husband, Chad, and Shelly Abbott and husband, Neil III; great-grandchildren, Matthew Rodrigue, Jacob Rodrigue and Payton Pellegrin.

Mamie is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Leonce Pierre Trahan; parents, Johnny and Lillian Trahan; son-in-law, Murphy Rodrigue, Jr.; brothers, John, Clifford "Pete" and Alton Trahan.

She was a parishioner of Maria Immaculata Catholic Church and a devout believer in her Catholic faith.

Mamie enjoyed gardening and caring for others, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Special thanks to Dr. Russell Henry and staff, and her caregivers for their love and support.
