Lucia "Betty" Collins

February 5, 1931 — January 23, 2021

Lucia "Betty" Evangelista Collins, age 89, passed away on Janury 23, 2021. She was a native of

Dulac, LA and resident of Chauvin, LA.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2021 from 9-11A.M. At Chauvin funeral home.

Mass of Christian burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic church at 11:30 A.M., with burial

immediately afterward.

She is survived by her son, Bruce "T-Bruce" Collins Jr. and wife, Earline; grandchildren, Reagan

Collins, Ty Collins and wife Liliana, Ra-Ticha Mitch and husband Steven, Kayne Collins,

Rochelle Dupre Bonvillian, Alexander Foret and companion Jessie; and numerous great-

grandchildren and great- great grandchildren.

Due to COVID19 restrictions face mask are required and social distancing should be praticed.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, Alvin "Vin" Foret and Marie Foret, Emile

Evangelista and Hilda Aucoin; husband, Bruce "Ten" Collins Sr.; daughter, Joretta Collins Foret;

and brothers, Alvin "Tommy" Evangelista, and Johnny Boudreaux.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin, LA. Her hobbies included

gardening, sewing, crocheting, and most of all, dancing. She participated in various clubs and

community activities over the years. She was full of energy and life, and brightened any room

that she entered. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.

The Collins family would like to take the opportunity to thank staff at both Maison DeVille and

Journey hospice for the exceptional care given to Lucia during her final days.
