Lovelace Anthony Foret, Sr.

Lovelace Anthony Foret, Sr., 86, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 19, 2022. Lovelace was a native of Cocodrie, LA and lifelong resident of Grand Calliou, LA.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation in his honor on Monday, December 26, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. until a Liturgy of the Word at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow in Holy Family Cemetery.  

Lovelace is survived by his wife; Mary Pitre Foret; daughters, Rosa Parfait (Robert), Hazel Foret (Timothy Verdin), Belinda Foret, and Missie Ezell (Kevin); sons, Dominick Foret (Melissa) and Anthony Foret (Kelly); sister, Roseline Foret; brother, Houston Foret; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence “Nego” Foret; mother, Hilda Domangue Foret; son, Loveless Foret, Jr.; and grandson, Dominick Foret, Jr.

Lovelace was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He spent most of his life out on the boat fishing and shrimping. After retirement he enjoyed sitting home and watching his cowboy shows or spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be missed deeply by all who knew and loved him.
