Louvenia "Lou" Solar

Louvenia “Lou” S. Solar, 73, passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at 6:52AM. She was a native of Plaquemine, LA and resident of Thibodaux, LA.

Family and friends of the family are invited to visitation on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM at First Baptist Church of Houma in Houma, LA and Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 9:00AM until 1:00PM at Wibert Funeral Home in Plaquemine, LA. Burial will take place after services in Grace Memorial Cemetery in Plaquemine, LA.

Lou is survived by her loving husband of fifty-six years, Spaulding “Rick” Solar Jr.; sons, Spaulding “Ricky” Solar III and wife Stephanie, Yancey and wife Sherry Solar; daughters, Mollie Solar Daigle and husband James, Pamela Solar Hill and husband Daryl; grandchildren, Spaulding “Ricky” IV, Ryan Hill, Savannah Solar, Yancey Solar Jr., Matthew LaJaunie, Reece Solar, and Nicholas Hill; step-grandchildren, Alyssa Daigle, Shelbi Marklowitz and husband Tyler, Joshua Daigle, and Megan Ireland; seven step-great grandchildren; brother, Dean and wife Virgie Smart; in-laws, Frances Seymour, C. J. Solar and wife Ginny, Rita Zeringue, Lois Clement, Dickie Solar, Jimmy and wife Rosemary Solar; and their beloved pet “Cat”.

Lou is preceded in death by her father, Hollis Dean Smart; her mother, Doris Belle Repp Nereaux and her step-father, Sanders “Jack” Nereaux; daughter, Scarlette Belle Solar; brothers, Cecil Seymour, Edmond Seymour, Lawrence Lirette; 3 Nephews, Tarek Smart, Rhodes Seymour, William “Billy” Coose; and sister, Doris Dae Bourg; in-laws, Jerry Ann Lofton, Robert Solar, Betty Murphy, Lloyd Solar, Evelyn McIntyre; Mother and fathers-in-law, Violet and M.P. Petty, Spaulding Solar Sr.; and their beloved pet dogs, Zoie and Brownie.

Lou loved quilting and sharing the company of family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

Lou was a congregate of First Baptist Church of Houma, LA.
