Lorraine Fanguy

Lorraine Marie Matherne Fanguy, age 89, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, August 1, 2021. She was a native of Bourg and a resident of Chauvin, LA.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Thursday, August 5, 2021, beginning at 9:30 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. with burial following in church cemetery.

Lorraine is survived by her son, Timothy "Tim" J. Fanguy and wife, Trina; daughter, Mary F. Neil and husband, Stephen; brother, Terral Matherne, Sr.; sisters, Marie LeBouef, and Carolyn Matherne; grandchildren, Andrea N. Boudreaux and husband, Brandon, Allison N. Rousse and husband, Adam, Ashley N. Neil and Fiancé, Ryan, Jordan E. Fanguy and companion, Dylan, Julian C. Fanguy and companion, Tyler; 7 great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Carroll James Fanguy; sons, Carroll J., Jr. and James '"Jim" C. Fanguy; parents, Clairville Pierre and Nora Boquet Matherne; stepmother, Belle Matherne; brothers, Francis "Purpy", Hilman "Buster", and Ray Matherne; sisters, Hilda Breaux, Elaine Orgeron, and Lydia "Lee" LeBlanc.

Lorraine was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.  She enjoyed sewing, painting, crocheting, cooking, gardening, going to the casino, and spending time with family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all whose hearts she touched.
